About

Hospital de la Familia (Family Hospital), is a multi-specialty hospital located in Circuito Brasil 82, Parque Industrial El Alamo, Mexicali, Baja California, is one of northern Mexico's most recognized and prestigious multi-specialty hospitals and is within walking distance of the U.S.-Mexico Border Entry (200 yards). The Hospital de la Familia was founded in 2003 by a group of doctors who wanted to create a hospital with an elevated level of medical care. This is why, today, the hospital is the only hospital in Northern Mexico that is completely owned and operated by the same doctors who perform all surgical procedures, which provides the ultimate level of accountability and quality of care to its patients. In addition to being the only hospital in Northern Mexico to have been certified under both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, Hospital de la Familia has a wide range of specialties including Cosmetic Surgery, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Orthopedic Surgery, Oncology, Urology, Dermatology, Fertility Treatment and Pediatrics. Many of the physicians at Hospital de la Familia are U.S. trained and are recognized as some of the best surgeons in Northern Mexico; additionally, about 60% of the patients treated at the hospital come from the United States. Hospital de la Familia also accepts many major international insurance companies such as Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare and Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Each of the hospital's 23 private patient rooms are attended by a doctor and specialized support staff, as well as bilingual English/Spanish speaking support staff, while also providing transportation services up to 120 miles away from the hospital. Due to these factors, Hospital de la Familia is considered one of the top Medical Tourism destinations along the U.S.-Mexico Border.

Orthopedic/Knee Surgery

Orthopedics deals with the bones, joints, muscles, and spine — treating everything from a worn-out knee or hip to sports injuries, slipped discs, and scoliosis. When pain limits your daily life, surgery can restore it. International hospitals in India, Thailand, and Malaysia offer knee replacements, hip replacements, spinal procedures, and ACL repairs using the same Zimmer Biomet and Stryker implants found in top US hospitals — often with robotic-assisted surgical systems — at 60–75% lower cost, and without the 12–18 month NHS waiting lists.

Obesity/Bariatric Surgery

Obesity/Bariatric Surgery

Bariatric surgery permanently changes the size and structure of the stomach — and in some cases the digestive pathway — to help people with severe obesity eat less, absorb fewer calories, and lose weight in a way that diet and exercise alone haven't achieved. It's also one of the most effective treatments for obesity-related conditions like Type 2 diabetes and sleep apnoea. In the US, the procedure costs $20,000–$30,000 and is often not covered by insurance. In Mexico, India, or Turkey, the same surgery — laparoscopic, in an accredited hospital, with a full support programme — runs $4,000–$8,000.
