Tawam Hospital

Tawam Hospital is a JCI-accredited tertiary care facility and the largest public hospital in the UAE's Eastern Region. Established in 1979, this 469-bed hospital serves as the referral center for oncology, neonatology, and trauma services across Al Ain and neighboring regions. The facility houses the UAE's first Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and operates the busiest neonatal ICU outside Abu Dhabi city, with 90+ Western-trained consultants across 40+ specialties. As part of SEHA network, Tawam combines American-standard healthcare (through Johns Hopkins affiliation) with government-subsidized services. The hospital features advanced technology including PET-CT, 3T MRI, and robotic surgery systems, while maintaining ISO 14001 certification for environmental sustainability. It handles 1.2 million patient visits annually, including complex referrals from Oman.
