Datt Maternity and Surgical Home was established in 1960 through the efforts of Dr. M. B. Inamdar and Dr. (Mrs.) S. M. Inamdar. Hospital was one of the pioneers in the area when municipal limit of Bombay did not extend to Goregaon. It quickly became a well-accepted Hospital, reputed for its Quality Maternity Service at affordable cost. The Hospital services included mainly maternity services with most of the gynaecological (non-pregnant) services. When in 1982, Dr. B. M. Inamdar joined as Consulting Gynaecologist, hospital services expanded rapidly. Gynaecological surgeries become more and more prominent. New endoscopic service was started for the infertile patients with added advantage for patients wanting family planning and patients complaining of pain. Most of the gynecological surgeries are performed now through endoscopy, ever since Dr. B. M.
