Dr. Gurhan Ozcan

Prof. Dr. Gürhan Özcan is one of Turkey's most distinguished and internationally respected Professor of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery, with an extraordinary career spanning over 40+ years. He is widely regarded as a true pioneer and pillar of plastic surgery in Turkey, having built an unparalleled academic, clinical, and international reputation across decades of dedicated practice. He graduated from the prestigious Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in Ankara in 1977 and completed his plastic surgery residency at the same institution before embarking on a remarkable international career. He spent several years in the United States at Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Medical Center, Houston — one of the world's leading medical institutions — first as a Research Associate and then as an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery, establishing his credentials as both a world-class clinician and academic researcher. Returning to Turkey, he rose through the academic ranks to become a full Professor and was appointed as the Founding Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Başkent University Faculty of Medicine in Ankara — a testament to his role in shaping plastic surgery education in Turkey. He has held multiple distinguished national roles including Treasurer, Secretary-General, and President positions within the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery (TSAPS) and served as Turkey's National Delegate to multiple major international plastic surgery bodies, including IPRAS, EURAPS, and EBOPRAS across four continents. Prof. Dr. Özcan has been twice awarded for research by the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS) and received the prestigious European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS) Certification in Budapest, Hungary in 2006. He currently practices at the Istanbul Aesthetic Center in Nişantaşı, Istanbul, where he continues to deliver exceptional results to both Turkish and international patients, known especially for his expertise in revision rhinoplasty, tummy tuck, breast surgery, and blepharoplasty.
