About
Prof. Daniel Buser is one of the most published implant surgeons in the world, with over 400 peer-reviewed publications and more than 35 years of surgical experience. He served as Chairman of Oral Surgery at the University of Bern from 2000 to 2019 and was ITI President from 2009 to 2013. He is a pioneer of micro-rough implant surfaces and guided bone regeneration (GBR), and is the editor of the definitive GBR textbook published by Quintessence. He has received the André Schroeder Research Prize, the Brånemark Osseointegration Award, and the ITI Honorary Fellowship. He completed sabbaticals at Harvard University (1989–91 and 2016), Baylor College of Dentistry, and the University of Melbourne. He co-founded the Buser & Sculean Academy for Periodontology and Implant Dentistry in 2020.
