TONGUÇ İŞKEN

Prof. TONGUÇ İŞKEN is a distinguished Professor of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery currently serving at Memorial Bahçelievler Hospital and Bahçeşehir University Medicine Faculty in Istanbul, Turkey. Born in Ankara, Turkey in 1969, Prof. İŞKEN completed his medical training at Ankara University Medicine Faculty (1985-1991) and specialized in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Akdeniz University Medicine Faculty (1992-1999). With over 24 years of professional experience, Prof. İŞKEN has established himself as a leading expert in plastic and reconstructive surgery. His international experience includes teaching positions at Johns Hopkins University (USA, 2009) and Uppsala University (Sweden, 2008). Prof. İŞKEN has an exceptional academic record with more than 170 speeches and presentations at International and Local Conferences, 51 scientific articles (33 international), 6 books and book chapters, and 3 TÜBİTAK projects. He has received prestigious awards including 2 TÜBİTAK Science Encouragement Awards and the Turkish Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Association Research Competition 2nd Prize. His research contributions include innovative techniques in breast reconstruction, gluteal perforator flaps, breast projection enhancement, penile skin defect repair, botulinum toxin applications, and W-plasty design. Prof. İŞKEN is an active member of prestigious international organizations including the International Society of Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), Balkan Association of Plastic Reconstructive Aesthetic Surgery, and The AO Foundation AO CMF, demonstrating his commitment to advancing the field of plastic surgery globally.
