Kulasegaram Ranjadayalan

Dr Kulasegaram Ranjadayalan is an experienced consultant cardiologist at Newham University Hospital NHS Trust. He also practises at the London Independent Hospital and Barts Health Mile End Hospital. His areas of interest are chest pain, heart failure, syncope, and hypertension. Dr Ranjadayalan gained his medical degree in 1980 from the University of Peradeniya and went on to earn an MD, MPhil, and FRCP. He joined Newham Hospital in 1988 and shortly after this he began a research fellowship in cardiology under Prof Timmis. Following this in 1992, he took up a position as first staff physician in cardiology and respiratory medicine before becoming a consultant cardiologist in 1994. The Open Access Chest Pain Clinic pioneered by Prof Timmis of which Dr. Ranjan ran, led to a number of awards and recognitions for the trust including 'best caring and supportive team'. This represents a theme for his career, with colleagues and patients alike speaking extremely highly of him. He has been described by colleagues as "the stuff legends are made of" and "an exceptional cardiologist"; a testament to his dedication and skill. He is a member of the British Society of Heart Failure, the British Society of Echocardiography, and the British Society of Cardiovascular Medicine.
