Dr. Jaya Agarwal

Dr. Jaya Agarwal is an Assistant Professor at Amrita Hospital, specializing in Solid Organ Transplant. She holds an MBBS degree along with an MS in General Surgery and an MCh in Gastrointestinal Surgery and Solid Organ Transplant. With eight years of experience in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) surgery and Solid Organ Transplant, she has a rich background. Dr. Agarwal's expertise was honed through her work at various institutions, including the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery and Liver Transplant at Amrita Hospital, Kochi, the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery at GB Pant Institute of Medical Education and Research, New Delhi, and the Department of General Surgery at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. She was recognized as the best outgoing postgraduate resident in MS General Surgery from PGIMER Chandigarh. Her MCh training at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (Kochi) allowed her to gain hands-on experience in complex HPB, GI surgeries, Solid Organ Transplants, and even complex vascular surgeries. Dr. Agarwal's dedication to research has earned her multiple awards at both National and International conferences. She received specialized training in colorectal surgery through the FALS Colorectal Fellowship in Chennai. Furthermore, she holds Fellowships in advanced HPB surgery (awarded by the prestigious IHPBA Association of India) and Liver Transplant and Organ retrieval (by the Liver Transplant Society of India). Her professional affiliations include being a life member of esteemed associations such as IHPBA, IMA, and IAGES in India.
