Aree Tanavalee

Dr. Aree Tanavalee is the leading orthopedic surgeon with over 38 years of rich experience in the field of orthopedics. He specializes in knee reconstruction and sports medicine, making him one of the most experienced orthopedic surgeons in Thailand. Dr. Tanavalee has performed numerous surgical procedures throughout his distinguished career. His major surgeries include shoulder replacement surgery, minimally invasive hip replacement, knee replacement surgery, ACL reconstruction, and ankle, shoulder, and knee arthroscopy. The doctor is also skilled in elbow replacement surgery, osteotomy, limb lengthening, and other advanced orthopedic procedures. Dr. Tanavalee started his journey by completing his MD from the Faculty of Medicine at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, in 1986, which is one of the most prestigious medical institutions in Thailand. He completed his Residency Training in Orthopedic Surgery at Chulalongkorn Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, Chulalongkorn University, in 1992, gaining comprehensive training in orthopedic surgical techniques. In 1996, Dr. Tanavalee earned his first Fellowship in Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, USA, which provided him with advanced training in joint replacement procedures. He did another Fellowship in Knee Reconstruction at the Insall-Scott-Kelly Institute for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Beth Israel Medical Center, New York, USA, in 1998, specializing in knee reconstruction techniques. Later, Dr. Tanavalee pursued a Fellowship in Knee Reconstruction and Minimally Invasive Arthroplasty at the Institute for Advanced Orthopedic Study from Robert-Wood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick, NJ, USA, in 2002, gaining expertise in minimally invasive surgical approaches. Dr. Tanavalee's extensive international training and nearly four decades of experience have established him as a leading authority in orthopedic surgery, particularly in joint replacement and sports medicine. Currently serving as a Consultant Orthopedic and Joint Replacement Surgeon at MedPark Hospital in Bangkok, Dr. Tanavalee continues to provide exceptional orthopedic care to patients requiring both routine and complex joint replacement procedures.
