Dr. Pravina Shah headed the neurology departments of Seth G. S. Medical College and K.E.M. Hospital, She practiced general neurology with an emphasis on epilepsy. She also teaches DNB (Neurology) to postgraduates. She currently serves as the Secretary of the Indian Epilepsy Association (Mumbai Chapter) and is a former president of the Indian Epilepsy Society. In addition, in 2011, the International League Against Epilepsy and the International Bureau for Epilepsy presented Dr. Shah with the social Accomplishment Award, an honor bestowed only once every two years on one individual worldwide who has made a significant contribution to the fight against epilepsy.
